How to Wear a Dust Pink Blazer With a Dress
A dusty pink alternative if you are wanting a little bit of colour with your key basics.
DUSTY PINK IS STILL A VIBE: HOW TO WEAR IT
When looking over my colour palette this week to share in a new YouTube video entitled Tips On Wearing Colour I realised dusty pink is still a clear winner for me. It's been a while now since I began collecting pieces in dusty pink which I think is just the right amount of feminine without going too girly. Most recently, I added this blazer and it's matching shorts to the collection, both from Everlane. I absolutely love a shorts suit and paired together, they are nothing short of chic. But I'll be sharing that suit look soon (since the shorts are on sale, real soon!). Today, I just wanted to make a case for this blazer and some white key basics.
START WITH KEY BASICS
I've gotten so much wear out of these crop jeans, they are such a key basic. I love them with a cream knit, a low heel and a basic trench coat. In the past, I was afraid to wear white jeans just in case I spilled, sat in something, or brushed against anything making a mark. But there is really no denying how crisp, chic and effortless they are. White and off-white are such an excellent base from which other colours can be featured too. Swap out the dusty pink blazer for a navy, blue, olive, or beige one for a similar style but a very different mood. As you may know, I am a bit of a blazer addict so this is definitely my approach to re-working the same key basics.
NEW IN: EVERLANE ESPADRILLES
Here the white t-shirt almost disappears, making the blazer and bag the stars of the show. I'd say the same about these espadrilles but I think they do their own share of talking. Since I shared them on my Instagram, I've had a bunch of people ask about them too. Also from Everlane, they are a new addition to their shoe line and I'm a huge fan of an espadrille so I had to jump on it.
I will say that despite having narrow feet and going for my usual size, I find the heel a little tough, so I might just need to break them in a little or next time go up a half size. Otherwise, I love the comfortable sole and fit, adore the slightly square toe and tan (beautiful quality) leather. They've paired so well in my wardrobe that I'm sure to break them in soon. Before I wrap up, I've just spotted that the espadrilles are on sale for a limited time at the moment, making them just over $100 Australian dollars. Run, don't walk! This is your perfect spring shoe!
